Recently Completed Projects Old Spanish Trail/Gunnison River Bluffs brochure - Mesa County The Old Spanish Trail is a nationally-recognized, federally-protected Trail, that has been used since the early 1800s as a trade, slaver and settlement route from Santa Fe, New Mexico, to California. Early European travelers traveled thru Mesa County using this Trail – which continued to be used throughout the 1800s into the early 20th Century as horses, mules and foot travelers gave way to wagons, stagecoaches and the earliest automobiles. Meeker Town Ditch Pipeline In response to a request from White River Conservation District in Rio Blanco County, Colorado Big Country delivered a research report to the District in March 2010. The Meeker Town ditch extends 14,200 feet from the head-gate on the White River, to the east, to the western edge of Town. Read More... | On-Going Projects Partnership Grant Program Part of the 2007 Plan of Work, this program was designed to donate Council funds to organizations in support of their efforts in projects that fit with our Council’s mission. More than 100 letters went out to nonprofit organizations, schools and other agencies.
